I was tasked with developing a user-friendly and secure template that could be used across various banking clients, including IDFC, HDFC, and DBS. This project addressed a new RBI mandate requiring the tokenisation of user cards, enhancing both security and usability.
📝 Objectives
- Facilitate Secure Card Tokenisation: Ensure users could securely tokenise their cards with minimal effort and retain these tokens for future use.
- Smooth Onboarding Experience: Minimise friction during the onboarding and tokenisation process to reduce user drop-offs.
- Design a Clean, Intuitive UI: Create a user interface with low cognitive load, making it accessible and easy to navigate.
- Merchant Visibility: Highlight the involvement and offerings of vendors.

⚡️Challenges
- User Awareness: Users were generally unaware of the RBI's new tokenisation mandate. We wanted to comfort them with to provide comprehensive and clear information that would reassure them about the benefits and security of tokenisation.
- Fraud Concerns: Users were apprehensive about potential online transaction fraud.
- Scalability: The system needed to accommodate a growing number of merchants, potentially exceeding 200.
- Information Overload: There was a risk of overwhelming users with too much information during the onboarding and tokenisation process.
